Banking Terms and Conditions

These conditions govern the use of NRSP MFBL’s Internet Banking service and form part of, and are to be read together with, the terms and conditions which apply to your account.

1. Definitions

In these conditions the following words and expressions have the following meanings:

  • "Internet Banking" means the Banking web portal which can be used to access NRSP Bank's account information and perform transactions;
  • "account" means any current or savings account or debit/credit card with us which is either in your own name or held jointly with somebody else;
  • "user name" means the user name that you have selected at the time of registration that lets you use our Internet Banking service;
  • "password" means the secret password that you have setup during registration to help us authenticate your identity before letting you use Bank’s Inter Banking service;
  • "FPIN/ OTP" means the internet financial identification number (iPIN) or one time password which is required for authorization/confirmation of transaction (where applicable). This is a random 6 character code send to your registered mobile device and is random/unique for each transaction.
  • "Internet Banking" means using the Internet (this portal) to manage your finances;
  • "our/us/we" means NRSP Bank Limited;
  • "you/your" means the person(s) registered for our Internet Banking service.

2. Internet Banking Service

2.1 You can access our Internet Banking service through Personal Computer, Laptop, hand held device like mobile or tablet etc. Please ensure your device is secure. For further information please see like (https://www.nrspbank.com/security-tips)

2.2 You can use our Internet Banking service 24 hours a day. Occasionally you may not be able to use the service for example when we carry out maintenance or updates. In circumstances where we know access to the Internet Banking may be interrupted we will do our best to notify you in advance.

2.3 We may de-active you from our Internet Banking service if you have not used the Internet Banking service for over 6 months. Your internet banking account will be disabled. If we de-active you from our Internet Banking service for the above reason, you will need to re-activate for the service if you wish to use it in the future.

 

3. Security Data

3.1 Each time you use our Internet Banking service we will ask you to give us your user name, OTP and password. This is so that you can prove, and we can authenticate, your identity.

3.2 Once registered for Internet Banking service you must always keep your user name and password secret. If you write them down you must make a sufficient attempt to disguise them. You must not tell anybody else your user name or password.

3.3 If you dispute that you have carried out an Internet Banking transaction, we will expect you to co-operate with us and the police in any investigations. We may give the police and our insurers any information we consider relevant, to enable them to carry out investigations.

3.4 If we believe or suspect fraudulent or suspicious transactions are being carried out on your account we reserve the right to suspend access to all or part of our Internet Banking service.

3.5 NRSP Bank's Internet Banking transmits data using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology that supports 128-bit key encryption. If your browser does not support 128-bit encryption, you will not be able to access Online Banking. The server that you access for NRSP Bank's Internet Banking does not connect directly to the Internet. It is buffered from the Internet through the use of firewalls and a service provider interface. All access from outside the bank must go through these firewalls, which screens the requests and allows only valid https traffic to reach the server.

4. Acting on Your Instructions

4.1 We will carry out transactions on your account following instructions you give us or which seem to us to be given by you through our Internet Banking service. This is provided the correct user name, password and OTP are quoted.

4.2 We reserve the right not to act on any instructions which would mean you would not be keeping to these conditions or those applying to your account. For example, we will not allow a transaction if it will create an overdraft or exceed an agreed overdraft.

4.3 If we decide not to carry out a transaction we will not be responsible for any loss or damage you suffer because of that decision. We will normally tell you why we are not prepared to carry out a transaction when you use our Internet Banking service.

4.4 If, because of something beyond our reasonable control or the reasonable control of those acting on our behalf, we are unable to let you carry out a transaction using our Internet Banking service, we will not be responsible for any loss or damage you suffer as a result. An example of when this may happen is when a PC, browser or other equipment necessary to use our Internet Banking service is faulty or out of order.

5. No warranty

5.1 The Bank does not warrant that the use of the Services will meet the Customer's requirements or that the operation of Service will be uninterrupted or error free. If the Customer is a company or otherwise acting for the purposes of its trade, business or profession, then except as expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions all conditions, warranties, terms and undertakings express or implied, statutory or otherwise, in respect of the provision of the Service or otherwise are hereby excluded.

5.2 The financial information available by means of this Service is for reference purposes only as all transactions may not have been updated in the Bank's books. The timing of processing may vary depending on whether the transactions are processed manually or electronically and some transactions will be updated immediately while others will not be processed until after the close of business. This may result in the information available to Customers via the Service not reflecting transactions in the Bank's hands which have yet to be processed.

6. Liability

Subject to any terms implied by law or by the rules of any regulatory body and which cannot be excluded, the Bank shall not be liable in contract, tort (including negligence), and delict or otherwise:

6.1 For the fraud of the Customer or Nominated User;

6.2 For any downtime, unavailability, failure, malfunction, distortion or interruption to the Service, whether caused by a failure in the Websites, or any communications means or otherwise;

6.3 For any omission, error, discrepancy, ambiguity in any Customer or Nominated User instructions, for any failure by the Customer or Nominated User to use the Service in accordance with these terms and conditions, the On-Line Help or any other instructions provided by the Bank from time to time (whether in writing, electronically or orally) or any misuse or abuse of the Service by the Customer or any neglect or default by the Customer or any loss or damage caused or suffered by the Customer's equipment as a result of being connected to the Service;

6.4 For indirect or consequential loss or damage or loss of profit, opportunity, goodwill, or for loss of or damage to data or for secondary or indirect loss or damage or for damage to for loss of anticipated savings;

6.5 For force majeure, including, without limitation, industrial disputes, any act or omission by any third party or the revocation of any licence held by the Bank in connection with the Service or any other act or omission outside of the Bank's control; and

6.6 For any loss or damage incurred by the Customer through use of financial information available through the Service, whether or not such information is current. Nothing in these Conditions shall limit the Bank's liability to the Customer for fraud by the Bank or for death or personal injury resulting from its negligence or that of its employees or agents. The Customer shall be responsible for any such loss which may be incurred by the Bank as a consequence of any material breach by the Customer of these terms and conditions and the Customer will indemnify the Bank against any claims made against the Bank for recompense for such loss and any costs incurred by the Bank in connection with such claim.

7. FPIN/ OTP Issuance and Usage

7.1 Your registered Mobile number with the Bank becomes the second factor of authentication when authorizing transactions on the Internet Banking website.

7.2 For certain transactions you carry out on the Internet Banking you will be prompted to use your 6 character code which will be send to your registered mobile device. This code token is valid for a single transaction event only and every time a transaction is conducted where OTP is required; a new OTP will be send to your registered mobile device. If your registered mobile device/number is not working, then you can access your code through email as well. If both are not available them you may not be able to perform transaction.

7.3 If you change your mobile number, you are required to update the information with NRSP Bank by visiting the branch. Else you will no longer be able to make certain transactions on the Internet Banking.
